Almost anyone. We do not treat minors below the age of 18 or patients with certain medical conditions. Before treatment you’ll answer some questions about your health history to make sure an IV is safe for you. IVs are safe for pregnant and breastfeeding patients. If pregnant, we prefer to be in contact with your obstetrician or midwife regarding your care.
IVs deliver 100% of the ingredients directly into the bloodstream, this way it rapidly replenishes fluids, electrolytes, and vitamins. When taking things by mouth, the gastrointestinal tract slows absorption and diminishes the potency of the ingredients.
The fluid itself (usually Lactaid Ringers) and whatever appropriate additives our medical professional decides will best help get you feeling better! These can be any combination of medicines, vitamins, and nutrients.
All treatments are administered by our fully licensed and accredited registered nurses (RN), Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) or Medical Doctors (MD). Our staff is the best of the best, and have worked in hospitals in emergency rooms, critical care units, operating rooms and IV start teams.
Sometimes a little, sometimes not. Depending on your preference, we can start the IV with or without numbing medicine, or with a numbing spray.
Side effects are usually insignificant and don’t last long. There can sometimes be bruising, bleeding from the site, and soreness. These are usually avoided by holding direct pressure after removal of the IV. Other side effects include risk of infection and extremely rarely allergic reactions. These are very rare and our highly trained medical professionals on staff are prepared to immediately treat any and all possible side effects.
IV therapy has many benefits that are dependent on the reason for your visit. Some of these benefits are an increase in energy and feeling of wellness, decreased headaches and body aches, and a normal level of hydration that will get you back to your “A” game.
